uma análise nas eleições de Minas Gerais a partir de 2010

Abstract

This article aimed to analyze the impact of gender quotas on the increase in female candidacies in Minas Gerais, with an emphasis on the progress made since their implementation and in elections since 2010. Although the quota mechanism has contributed to the quantitative growth of these candidacies and to more inclusive political representation, challenges persist that limit women’s effective participation and competitiveness in the electoral arena. These structural and cultural obstacles demonstrate that quotas are a necessary initial measure but insufficient to ensure full equality in political representation. The study suggests that complementary policies are essential to creating a more equitable and sustainable political environment for female participation.
