Abstract

Introduction: Lipschütz ulcer is an acquired condition characterized by painful genital ulcers and tissue necrosis. Its exact etiology is unknown, and it may be associated with different infectious agents. Diagnosis is based on specific laboratory criteria. In this report we deal with a child affected by the disease and with Dengue infection. Objective: to report the case of an 11-year-old patient with Lipschutz ulcer, acute vulvar aphthous ulceration or Lipschütz ulcer. Method: information obtained through medical record review, patient interview, photographic record of the diagnostic methods to which the patient was subjected and literature review. Final considerations: the reported case and the reviewed literature bring to light the discussion of the treatment and follow-up of a complex situation that is the disease Lipschutz ulcer. This case report highlights the importance of differential diagnosis in pediatric patients with painful genital lesions. The ability to identify conditions such as Lipschütz ulcer and safely prescribe treatments are essential to ensure appropriate management and patient recovery.
