COMUNICAÇÃO EFETIVA DA EQUIPE DE ENFERMAGEM NA SEGURANÇA DO PACIENTE: REVISÃO SISTEMÁTICA DE LITERATURA

Abstract

Effective communication within the nursing team is essential to ensuring patient safety in hospital environments. Currently, through goals proposed by the World Health Organization (WHO) and, in Brazil, by the National Patient Safety Program (PNSP), communication has been sought and encouraged. This work intends to carry out a review on the subject, highlighting the importance of effective communication for the nursing team. The research of works, used in this review, was carried out between March and May 2024. The works highlighted the relevance of effective communication between multidisciplinary teams, the need for everyone's involvement, including managers. Factors that make truly effective communication impossible were highlighted by the authors studied, such as service overload, exhausting working hours, lack of professional training, among others. Effective, accurate and clear communication reduces the occurrence of errors and results in improved patient safety. Therefore, nurses must be able to develop this skill and incorporate it into their routine.
