Abstract

Introduction: Oropharyngeal cancer is among the most frequent head and neck neoplasms. The main risk factor related to HPVinfection. Objective: This work aims to analyze the epidemiological profile of patients affected by oropharyngeal neoplasms in apublic health network in Brazil. Method: The study was carried out from the collection of quantitative and qualitative data frompatients diagnosed with oropharyngeal cancer from the DataSUS platform, SisRHC software and the INCA platform. Results: The data highlight that oropharyngeal cancer affects more men than women, with the most affected age group being 50-69 years. Stage 4 was the most common at diagnosis. Most patients take more than 60 days to start treatment after receiving the diagnosis. Conclusion: The epidemiological profile of patients with oropharyngeal cancer in the public network is similar to what is described in the literature, with a higher incidence in men, with late diagnoses.
