Abstract

Aim: Recognize when and how to perform endodontic treatment in deciduous teeth, through the diagnosis and its indications. Methods: The search was carried out in the Google Scholar and Pubmed database, in Portuguese and English, using the following keywords: Endodontic treatment of necrosed primary teeth /primary teeth AND necrosis AND endodontic treatment/ Endodontia odontopediatria AND dentes decíduos AND endodontic AND pediatric dentistry and deciduous teeth. Years for publication were not established. Exclusion criteria were articles outside the topic of discussion and articles not available in full. Results: Endodontic treatment in deciduous teeth is indicated when the bone crypt of the permanent tooth has not yet been ruptured, with a maximum of 1/3 of resorption of the root of the deciduous tooth. Conclusion: It is possible to obtain good results in endodontic treatment in deciduous teeth, since the dental surgeon is well trained, with techniques, knowledge, and skills based on scientific evidence.
