Fala (aos répteis) da terra, e eles te responderão, e aos peixes do mar, e eles te darão lições. Se não, escuta-me, cala-te, e eu te ensinarei a sabedoria” (JÓ, 12:7-8; 33:33).

Profª Maria do Rosário Araújo Velano

Reitora da UNIFENAS
https://revistas.unifenas.br/index.php/revistaunifenas/article/view/1313PRÁTICAS DE INTERNACIONALIZAÇÃO EM UNIVERSIDADES DE PORTE PEQUENO:2025-03-24T18:02:08-03:00Priscila Martins Mendonçapriscila.mendonca@unifenas.brDaniela Schiabeldaniela.schiabel@unifenas.brJosiane de Cássia Figueiredo Bastosjosiane.bastos@unifenas.brCarla da Silva Matos Noronhacarla.noronha@unifenas.brSandra de Souza Alvessandra.alves@unifenas.br
This article discusses the challenges faced by small universities in implementing internationalization practices, based on an analysis of the experiences of the Federal University of Alfenas (UNIFAL-MG). Internationalization is recognized as an essential process for higher education, fostering academic cooperation, knowledge exchange, and innovation. However, small universities encounter significant barriers, including financial constraints, lack of infrastructure, low academic mobility, and challenges in formulating effective institutional policies. This article explores these difficulties, providing a critical perspective and suggesting viable strategies to mitigate the challenges faced by small institutions.
2025-03-28T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Científica da UNIFENAS - ISSN: 2596-3481https://revistas.unifenas.br/index.php/revistaunifenas/article/view/1314SOUTH-SOUTH COOPERATION AND THE ROLE OF LATIN AMERICAN UNIVERSITIES2025-03-24T18:00:19-03:00Priscila Martins Mendonçapriscila.mendonca@unifenas.brDaniela Schiabeldaniela.schiabel@unifenas.brJosiane de Cássia Figueiredo Bastosjosiane.bastos@unifenas.brCarla da Silva Matos Noronhacarla.noronha@unifenas.brSandra de Souza Alvessandra.alves@unifenas.br

South-South cooperation (SSC) is considered an alternative to the subordination relations of the Global South to the Global North, a fact established due to the colonization process that the nations of the South experienced in the past. Countries in Latin America, as well as in Africa and Asia, therefore, share similar experiences and still suffer the consequences of this period. It is still possible to observe the dependence of these countries in economic and scientific matters. SSC emerged seeking to promote collaboration between these countries, with the aim of strengthening their economies, societies and institutions. In Latin America, universities are crucial in this process, given that they act as agents for disseminating knowledge, as promoters of technical capabilities and, above all, as promoters of regional development. It is through academic exchanges and the sharing of technologies and skills that these institutions enable collaborative approaches focused on local realities. Although SSC has many contributions and advantages, its implementation faces tough barriers, such as lack of investment, bureaucracy and the strong historical context of colonization. To overcome these difficulties, actions such as the creation and strengthening of academic networks, the expansion of academic mobility and the mutual effort to value regional knowledge stand out. This article seeks to analyze the cooperative role of Latin American universities and proposes reflections on the future of CSS, and ways to consolidate the independent and supportive educational approach proposed by this type of cooperation.
2025-03-28T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Científica da UNIFENAS - ISSN: 2596-3481https://revistas.unifenas.br/index.php/revistaunifenas/article/view/1315INTERNATIONALIZATION OF EDUCATION AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF A REGIONAL IDENTITY IN LATIN AMERICA2025-03-24T17:57:38-03:00Priscila Martins Mendonçapriscila.mendonca@unifenas.brDaniela Schiabeldaniela.schiabel@unifenas.brJosiane de Cássia Figueiredo Bastosjosiane.bastos@unifenas.brCarla da Silva Matos Noronhacarla.noronha@unifenas.brSandra de Souza Alvessandra.alves@unifenas.br
The internationalization of higher education in Latin America is a complex issue with historical and structural challenges. The process is part of the context of current political, social and economic integration. Likewise, it is vulnerable to the current process of commodification of education, a neoliberal trend that contradicts the vision of internationalization based on solidarity, which aims to strengthen the region's academic and scientific identity. The main objectives of internationalization include strengthening the technological and scientific autonomy of Latin American countries, developing local potential and promoting cooperation networks. However, there are important challenges to be overcome, such as technological dependence on major powers and the consequent exodus of academics to these centers in search of better conditions for developing their research and intellectual and financial recognition. Internationalization presents itself as a space for ideological dispute and resistance against the privatization of higher education, politically mobilizing the academic community to build a regional identity, with the aim of valuing cultural values and promoting local development and improvement. The aim of the article is to discuss the construction of this Latin American cultural identity, through the process of internationalization of education.
2025-03-28T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Científica da UNIFENAS - ISSN: 2596-3481https://revistas.unifenas.br/index.php/revistaunifenas/article/view/1316O VALOR DA LÍNGUA DE SINAIS NO DESENVOLVIMENTO AFETIVO, COGNITIVO E SOCIAL DA PESSOA SURDA2025-03-24T17:49:41-03:00Josiane de Cássia Figueiredo Bastosjosiane.bastos@unifenas.brCarla da Silva Matos Noronhacarla.noronha@unifenas.brDaniela Schiabeldaniela.schiabel@unifenas.brSandra de Souza Alvessandra.alves@unifenas.brPriscila Martins Mendonçapriscila.mendonca@unifenas.br
The deaf student is a human being who is interested, analyzes, criticizes, makes analogies, possesses knowledge, and expresses feelings. They communicate through Sign Language and, like hearing children, have the same key characteristics essential for their intellectual, affective, and social development. The inclusion of deaf individuals, as per current proposals, has been carried out randomly, without considering their real needs. It is necessary to seek outcomes that go beyond mere socialization in the school environment. The objective of addressing this topic is to reinforce the value of Sign Language in the affective, cognitive, and social development of deaf individuals. Teachers still struggle to accept Sign Language, as oralism remains dominant and is heavily imposed on deaf individuals, thus hindering their inclusion and development process. The research was conducted through a bibliographic review. Studies on Sign Languages have shown that acquiring it as a first language can foster linguistic, cognitive, and affective-emotional development in deaf individuals. The use of both Portuguese and Libras promotes the bilingual philosophy, thus enhancing the overall development of the deaf.
2025-03-28T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Científica da UNIFENAS - ISSN: 2596-3481https://revistas.unifenas.br/index.php/revistaunifenas/article/view/1317LEADERSHIP, PSYCHOLOGICAL SAFETY, AND LEARNING: PATHWAYS TO ORGANIZATIONAL INNOVATION2025-03-24T17:46:35-03:00Raquel Motta Figueiredoraqueelmotta@hotmail.comPriscila Martins Mendonçapriscila.mendonca@unifenas.br
Organizational learning and psychological safety are key factors for the development and success of an organization. Furthermore, it was found that a psychologically safe environment contributes to organizational learning and innovation.
2025-03-28T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Científica da UNIFENAS - ISSN: 2596-3481https://revistas.unifenas.br/index.php/revistaunifenas/article/view/1318EQUITY IN THE LABOR MARKET2025-03-24T17:43:46-03:00Raquel Silva Ferreiraferreirassilva.raquel@gmail.comPriscila Martins Mendonçapriscila.mendonca@unifenas.br
The inclusion of women in the labor market has not eliminated the structural inequalities related to parenthood. Historically, domestic responsibilities and childcare have primarily fallen on women, leading to overload and difficulties in balancing career and personal life. This study aims to analyze the correlation between job satisfaction and parenthood, investigating whether the equitable division of parental responsibilities positively impacts job satisfaction. To achieve this, a quantitative study was conducted using questionnaires administered to professionals across different job levels. Statistical analysis, using Pearson’s Linear Correlation Coefficient, confirmed that work-life balance is a determining factor in job satisfaction. The findings indicate that despite increased paternal involvement in childcare, women still face a disproportionate burden, which can affect their performance and well-being in the workplace. The study also highlights the need for organizational and policy changes to promote gender equity and provide effective support for shared parenthood.
2025-03-28T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Científica da UNIFENAS - ISSN: 2596-3481https://revistas.unifenas.br/index.php/revistaunifenas/article/view/1319CONFLICT MANAGEMENT IN MULTICULTURAL TEAMS2025-03-24T17:40:24-03:00Patrícia Nevespat_neves@yahoo.comPriscila Martins Mendonçapriscila.mendonca@unifenas.br
Globalization has intensified the formation of multicultural teams within organizations, creating both challenges and opportunities for people management. This article aims to analyze the main conflicts in multicultural teams and the management techniques used to mitigate them. The methodology is based on semi-structured interviews with ten Brazilian managers leading multicultural teams, both in Brazil and abroad. The results indicate that effective communication, the promotion of interpersonal relationships, and an adaptive leadership style are the primary practices adopted to reduce conflicts and optimize organizational performance. Additionally, the research highlights that the impact of language barriers can be mitigated through the development of intercultural competencies and the implementation of specific training programs.
2025-03-28T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Científica da UNIFENAS - ISSN: 2596-3481
